How to Enroll in Brightspire Virtual School
1. Complete the Enrollment Form
To begin the process, please fill out our enrollment form with essential details about yourself and your child’s educational requirements. At Brightspire Virtual School, we have two primary options for enrollment: full-time or part-time enrollment.
Our full-time enrollment option is tailored for students who are dedicated to earning an accredited diploma with us. By choosing this path, your child will be fully immersed in our comprehensive curriculum, specifically designed to empower them to excel. Our part-time enrollment option allows your child to take one or more courses with us and transfer the credits to another school.
Whether you opt for full-time or part-time enrollment, every student will be assigned an Enrollment Specialist. They will proactively assist you by answering your questions and providing guidance throughout the enrollment process.
2. Submit Student Documentation
An Enrollment Specialist will collaborate with you to develop a tailored academic plan for your child, assess possible transfer credits, and gather all required documents. These documents may include previous transcripts or progress reports, any existing IEPs or 504 plans, as well as enrollment and financial forms.
The duration of this process can vary depending on factors such as the time of year, the efficiency of document gathering and submission, and the unique circumstances of your family. It could range from a few days to a few weeks. Regardless of the timeframe, our committed enrollment team will maintain close communication with you to ensure a streamlined experience throughout the process.
3. Confirm and Start Classes
Confirm your child’s enrollment by signing the necessary forms and making an initial payment. You have the option to make an upfront payment and enjoy a discounted rate, or you can opt for a payment plan. Our Enrollment Specialists will be happy to help you through this process. Once initial payment is complete we will enroll your child in classes and they’re ready to start.

Common Admissions Process Questions
Is there an application deadline?
No, students can start any time. Enrollment is on a rolling basis.
Is Brightspire available in my state?
As a virtual private school we can accept student enrollments from any state. Students earning their diploma from us do not need to meet state requirements with enrollments, credits, or standardized testing that may be required of students attending public schools in their state. If you are planning to use ESA or voucher funds please contact us to let us know. We do not accept international students at this time.
What are your enrollment requirements?
We have an open enrollment policy, so we can accept any student who wishes to enroll, regardless of prior academic accomplishments. Make sure you let us know of any 504 plans or IEPs so we can assess whether or not we are able to accommodate these. In most cases our program is able to meet requests for accommodations, but in some cases, such as students needing translators or other live, in-person support, we may not be able to meet your needs.
Is state testing required?
No, students earning their diploma from us do not need to meet state requirements with enrollments, credits, or standardized testing required of students attending public schools in their state. As a virtual private school we can accept student enrollments from any state.
Does Brightspire use placement testing?
No, we do not use placement testing at Brightspire. Academic plans and course selections are recommended based on a student’s past academic accomplishments. Students may elect to take any classes they want and any course of study that meets our graduation requirements. We don’t currently offer diagnostic testing for student placement. We instead review a student’s previous academic performance to ensure they are prepared for their new courses and placed appropriately.
How do I choose classes?
During the enrollment process you will be advised on what classes to choose based on a number of factors such as your personal goals, if you are planning to graduate with us, if you are planning on transferring credits from other schools, if you seek to attend college, your timeline, and more. We will then complete a course plan for you as part of your enrollment process. Our enrollment support team will be with you every step of the way to help make sure you are enrolled in the right classes, based on your goals.
Can I get a transcript from Brightspire?
Yes, you can receive a transcript from Brightspire showing any classes you have completed as well as any credits you have transferred from past schooling experiences, to Brightspire.
